Digital Camera Binoculars – What is Eye Relief?

The term eye relief refers to the optimal distance between your eye and the lens of the binoculars. Eye relief is measured in millimeters and is crucial for anyone who wears glasses because glasses hold the eyes back from the eyepieces. Normal eye relief for binoculars ranges from 9 to 13 mm but if you wear glasses, you need digital camera binoculars whose eyepieces are specially designed with long eye relief, which manufacturers describe as 14 mm or longer. If the distance to your eyes is greater than the binoculars' eye relief, you will see only the center part of the image and not the whole field of view.
